Product Detail

The Hartke LX5500 is a remarkable 500 - watt bass amplifier head. Weighing just eight pounds, it's incredibly portable and can dynamically adapt to any playing style. The Class A 12AX7 tube - powered preamp offers an endless range of bass tones. You can dial in your ideal sound, while the lightweight Class D amplifier delivers 500 watts of real, continuous power, making any speaker cabinet sound amazing. The Hartke Tone Stacked EQ is tailored for a rich bass tone. It captures the essence of your bass guitar right when you plug in. With familiar bass and treble controls, plus Frequency and Shape knobs, you have great control over mid - frequencies. The Brite button boosts high frequencies, bringing out the top - end and natural harmonic overtones for a vivid sound. The LX5500 comes with two onboard effects. The Drive control lets you add a bit of grit or go all - out for a fuzzy sound. The compression knob adds punch to your attack and smooths out transients, perfect for slappers, tappers, and thumb - pickers. This amplifier is extremely versatile. It's light enough to take anywhere and can be used in any setup, whether on stage or in the practice room. The XLR direct out with pre and post - EQ selections allows direct connection to a PA or recording console. The 1/8” headphone output is great for silent practice, and the 1/8” auxiliary input can connect your phone or MP3 player. Key features include 500 watts of continuous power at 4 ohms, an 8 - lb Class D bass amplifier, classic 12AX7 Class A tube preamp circuitry, and a variety of useful input and output jacks.

Using the Hartke LX5500 is easy. First, connect your bass guitar to the 1/4” input jack. You can use either an active or passive instrument. Then, connect your speaker cabinet to the 1/4” or twist - and - lock speaker jacks (Speakon connectors are also compatible). To start shaping your sound, use the Tone Stacked EQ. Adjust the bass and treble controls to your liking. The Frequency and Shape knobs let you fine - tune the mid - frequencies. If you want a brighter sound, press the Brite button. For some extra distortion, use the Drive control. You can add a little bit or a lot, depending on your preference. The Compressor knob helps control the dynamics of your bass. When using the XLR direct out, you can choose between pre and post - EQ settings depending on your needs. For silent practice, plug your headphones into the 1/8” headphone output. You can also connect your phone or MP3 player to the 1/8” auxiliary input. Here are some important things to note. Make sure to turn down the volume before you plug in or unplug your instruments or speakers to avoid any sudden loud noises. Don't expose the amplifier to extreme temperatures or humidity. To keep your Hartke LX5500 in good condition, clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using any harsh chemicals. If you're not going to use it for a long time, store it in a cool, dry place. That's all you need to know to get the most out of your Hartke LX5500 bass amplifier head.
