Product Detail

The Palmer GA 04 L0 4 Ohm Speaker Simulator with Loadbox is a special DI box designed for guitars. It comes with an integrated load resistor, allowing tube amplifiers up to around 120 W to connect directly without a loudspeaker. You can pick up the signal via an unbalanced jack socket or a balanced XLR connector. The wide - ranging filter section can realistically simulate classic guitar loudspeaker sounds. Technical details include: it's a single - channel speaker simulator with an unbalanced input through a 6.3 mm jack. There are two outputs, a balanced and an unbalanced one, with 6.3 mm jack and XLR connectors respectively. The output impedance is 10 k Ohms for the 6.3 mm Jack and 600 Ohms for the XLR. It has various controls like color, filter volume, full - range volume, high, high cut, and low. An indicator shows the max. load. It features a 4 - Ohm dummy load with a max. load of 100 W, a voicing filter, and transformer - isolated outputs. The cabinet is made of sheet steel with a powder - coated surface, measuring 19” (480 mm) in width, 180 mm in depth, and 1 U (44.5 mm) in height, weighing 2.56 kg.

Using the Palmer GA 04 L0 4 Ohm Speaker Simulator with Loadbox is quite straightforward. First, connect your tube amplifier (up to about 120 W) to the simulator using the 6.3 mm jack input. You don't need to connect a loudspeaker. Then, you can choose to pick up the signal via the unbalanced 6.3 mm jack or the balanced XLR output, depending on your setup. Use the controls like color, filter volume, and high - low settings to adjust the sound to your liking. Remember, the max load is 100 W, so don't exceed this limit to avoid damage. When it comes to maintenance, keep the simulator in a dry and clean place. Wipe the powder - coated surface gently with a soft cloth if it gets dirty. Also, be careful when handling the simulator due to its relatively heavy weight of 2.56 kg.
