Product Detail
The Cre8audio Mr. Phil Ter is an amazing Eurorack module that combines an envelope generator, a VCA, and a filter. Despite its quirky name, this module packs a punch, offering a range of analog and digital capabilities in a compact 12hp size. Developed in partnership with Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers, the analog parts include a voltage - controlled amplifier circuit (VCA) and a classic transistor ladder filter. The VCA can take in sound or voltage and output it under your control. It's a must - have for any synth setup as you can never have too many VCAs. The transistor ladder filter is an old - school design that self - oscillates when resonance is turned up, producing a super clean sine wave. The envelope generator has a voltage range of 0 - 10V, with a gate trigger threshold of +5V. You can set attack, release, and decay times from 0 - 10s (slow) or 0 - 5s (fast), and there's an Easter egg mode for a steppy sample & hold effect. It has a depth of 26mm and power draws of 33mA on the +12V rail, 22mA on the +5V rail, and 36mA on the - 12V rail. Whether paired with an oscillator or using its own filter resonance, it's perfect for adding creativity to your synthesizer voice.
Using the Cre8audio Mr. Phil Ter is easy. First, connect it to your Eurorack system. If you want to use it with an oscillator, simply connect the oscillator to the appropriate input. To control the sound volume, use the VCA by sending sound or voltage in and adjusting the control voltage. For the envelope generator, set the attack, release, and decay times according to your preference. You can switch between slow (0 - 10s) and fast (0 - 5s) settings. When you want to create a unique sound, crank up the resonance on the filter section to make it self - oscillate. As for the Easter egg mode, just activate it to get a steppy sample & hold effect. When it comes to power, make sure to connect it to the correct voltage rails as specified in the technical details. For maintenance, keep it in a clean and dry place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If there's any dust on the module, gently clean it with a soft, dry cloth. That's all you need to know to make the most of your Mr. Phil Ter module.
