The Nektar Impact LX61+ is a remarkable 61-key USB keyboard controller with outstanding DAW integration. Unlike many premium products, the Impact LX49+ and LX61+ USB MIDI controllers are filled with intelligent and expressive performance controls. It automatically connects to your DAW, making setup a breeze. Nektar's custom DAW integration for major platforms like Bitwig, Cubase, and others takes this controller far beyond the normal functionality of a USB MIDI keyboard. With it, you can focus on your creative work. The 61-note velocity-sensitive keyboard has a synth action with medium tension. The full-size, piano-style keys are dust-protected and match the controller's design. There are 4 velocity curves and 3 fixed levels to suit different playing styles. Octave and transpose buttons, along with pitch bend and modulation wheels, are easily accessible. The 4 Octave & Transpose buttons have 4 selectable functions on the fly, allowing quick and important changes even while playing. A key combination makes assignments simple. The control center features nine 30mm faders, 9 MIDI buttons, and 8 encoders. Each control is fully programmable to send MIDI CC messages for hardware or software use. With Nektar DAW integration, these controls offer flexible pre-mapped DAW control. Control settings can be stored in 5 presets, and parameter values are stored when switching presets to avoid jumps.Technical specs include a velocity-sensitive synth-action keyboard, various controls, 8 velocity-sensitive pads with 4-color LED illumination, and multiple connection options. It's USB bus-powered and can connect to an iPad via an Apple Camera Connection Kit (not included). It has low system requirements and is compatible with major operating systems.
Using the Nektar Impact LX61+ is easy. First, connect it to your computer or iPad. If using a computer, make sure it meets the system requirements. No driver is needed for most systems, but Linux requires MIDI driver software. For the iPad, you'll need an Apple Camera Connection Kit.Once connected, it will automatically hook up to your DAW thanks to the Nektar DAW integration. You can start playing right away on the 61-note keyboard. Choose from the 4 velocity curves or 3 fixed levels based on your playing style. Use the octave and transpose buttons to shift the keyboard range as needed, and the pitch bend and modulation wheels to add extra expression. The control center is where you can really customize your experience. Program the faders, buttons, and encoders to send MIDI CC messages for your hardware or software. Store your control settings in one of the 5 presets for easy recall. Just remember to switch Null on when changing presets to avoid parameter jumping. The 8 velocity-sensitive pads are also a great feature. You can assign notes and MIDI cc messages to them, and choose from 4 color options for the LED illumination. You can load or save to any of the 4 pad maps for different setups. When it comes to maintenance, keep the keyboard clean. The keys are covered to protect against dirt and dust, but it's still a good idea to wipe it down occasionally. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If you're not using it for a long time, store it in a dry and safe place.
