Product Detail
The Palmer PDI03L04 is an amazing 4-Ohm speaker simulator with a loadbox, specially crafted for guitars. It combines load impedance, a signal splitter, and a DI box, all optimized for both live performances and recording sessions. Instead of connecting to a loudspeaker, simply connect it directly to the amplifier output. The signal bypasses the microphone and is sent through a special filter section straight to a mixing console or tape recorder. This allows power amplifiers to reach saturation without any annoying volume issues. Technical specs include a single channel, unbalanced input via a 6.3 mm jack, and both balanced and unbalanced outputs with 6.3 mm jack and XLR connectors. It has a dummy load of 4 Ohms, can handle a max load of 100 W, and comes with useful controls like filter volume, line out, and voicing. With transformer isolated outputs, a sheet steel/aluminum cabinet with a powder coated/anodized surface, it measures 19” in width, 180 mm in depth, and 1 U (44.5 mm) in height, weighing 3 kg.
Using the Palmer PDI03L04 is easy. First, connect it directly to your amplifier output instead of a loudspeaker. Then, you can send the signal to a mixing console or tape recorder. When using the controls, adjust the filter volume to get the right sound level, the line out to send the signal, and use the voicing control to shape the tone. Remember, the dummy load can handle up to 100 W, so don't exceed this limit. Also, keep the unit in a dry and clean place. If it gets dirty, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe it. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they might damage the powder coated or anodized cabinet surface. And that's all you need to know to get the most out of your Palmer PDI03L04.
