Product Detail

The Peavey Hum - Breaker is an amazing transformer - based audio line - level device. It's designed to offer perfect isolation, which is a real game - changer when you're connecting units with different power sources. This direct box is super versatile with balanced XLR and TRS phone inputs and outputs, along with a handy ground lift switch. It can handle signal levels up to +26dBu and still delivers excellent low - frequency response even at high levels. Using it is a breeze. Just connect your line - level source to either the XLR or phone input and link the output to your receiving equipment. You can lift the ground with the switch to get the best hum cancellation. Key features include a 1:1 input/output gain, a ground lift switch that separates the input from the output ground, parallel input and output jacks, and great frequency response from 20 Hz to 40K Hz with low THD. Technical specs show it's lightweight and compact, with an unpacked weight of 0.827lbs (0.375kg) and packed dimensions of 2.875” (7.30cm) in height, 6” (15.24cm) in width, and 9” (22.86cm) in depth.

Using the Peavey Hum - Breaker Direct Box is easy. First, connect your line - level audio source to either the XLR or phone input. Then, connect the output to your receiving equipment, like a mixer or amplifier. If you notice any hum or interference, use the ground lift switch. Just flip it to isolate the input from the output ground and reduce that annoying hum. As for maintenance, keep it in a dry and clean place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If it gets dirty, use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe it. When not in use, store it in its original packaging or a protective case to prevent any physical damage. Also, make sure the signal levels you're sending through it don't exceed +26dBu to avoid any issues with performance.
