Product Detail

Martin's Authentic Acoustic Superior Performance (SP) strings are a top - choice for acoustic guitar players. These strings are crafted with higher tensile strength and tin - plated core wire on all six strings. This unique construction results in a fuller, more balanced tone, a quicker response from your guitar, and enhanced tuning stability. Our strict standards for acoustic guitar tone are deeply ingrained in the string design and precision manufacturing process, which is why we make them ourselves. The strings are made of 80/20 bronze. Here are the different gauges available: Extra Light (MA170):.010 / .014 / .023 / .030 / .039 / .047 with a tension of 135.8; Custom Light (MA175):.011 / .015 / .023 / .032 / .042 / .052 with a tension of 153.7; Light (MA140):.012 / .016 / .025 / .032 / .042 / .054 with a tension of 167.3; Bluegrass (MA240):.012 / .016 / .025 / .035 / .045 / .056 with a tension of 179.8; Medium (MA150):.013 / .017 / .026 / .035 / .045 / .056 with a tension of 189.6; Extra Light 12 - String (MA180):.010, .010 / .014, .014 / .023, .010 / .030, .012 / .039, .018 / .047, .027 with a tension of 261.7; Light 12 - String (MA190):.012, .012 / .016, .016 / .025, .010 / .032, .014 / .042, .020 / .054, .030 with a tension of 324.0.

Using these Martin acoustic strings is easy. First, loosen the old strings on your guitar and remove them. Then, insert the new strings through the bridge and wind them around the tuning pegs. Make sure to tune your guitar gradually to avoid breaking the strings. When you're done tuning, give the strings a little stretch to help them settle. As for maintenance, wipe the strings with a clean cloth after each use to remove sweat and dirt. This will keep them sounding good for longer. Also, try to store your guitar in a dry place to prevent the strings from rusting. If you notice any signs of wear or if the tone starts to degrade, it's time to replace the strings.
