The Klein Electronics BodyGuard MultiPin Y5 Split Wire Earpiece for Vertex Radios is an adjustable earloop split - wire security kit. It can be used for either the left or right ear. If you order the BodyGuard Quick - Disconnect (BodyGuard - QD) earpiece, a separately - sold Quick - Disconnect adapter is needed. It comes with a PTT button/Microphone combo and a steel clothing clip. There's also an SMEP7 available option. This earpiece is compatible with Vertex models VX820, VX920, VX824, VX924, and VXD720.
Using this Klein Electronics earpiece is easy. First, adjust the earloop to fit your left or right ear comfortably. Then, attach the steel clothing clip to your clothes. Connect the earpiece to your Vertex radio according to the model it's compatible with. If you've ordered the BodyGuard Quick - Disconnect earpiece, remember to get the separate Quick - Disconnect adapter and connect it properly. When using, make sure the PTT button and microphone are in a convenient position for you to operate. As for maintenance, keep the earpiece clean by gently wiping it with a soft cloth. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or moisture. If you have the SMEP7 option, use it as per the manufacturer's instructions.
