Product Detail

The EMG 35TWX is an amazing four-string bass pickup. It offers two independent tonal options: a single-coil and a humbucker. With EMG's X Series preamp, it has improved dynamic response and clarity. In single-coil mode, using the JCSX design with ceramic and steel magnets, it gives a rich and warm tone. Switch to humbucker mode, and the CSX dual-coil setup creates a big, aggressive sound with a strong mid-range. The X Series preamp provides a wider dynamic range and more headroom while keeping the traditional string-to-string balance. The included Active Tone Control (VLPF) lets you roll off high frequencies, just like a passive tone control, giving you a noiseless single-coil experience that combines active and passive pickup features. If your instrument has two TWX pickups, don't use EMG's BT or BQ Systems. Each pickup needs a push/pull pot to switch between single-coil and humbucker modes, making the balance control not work. Instead, use a DPDT toggle switch for single/dual coil output selection. The 35TWX comes in a 3.5-inch (89mm) extended housing, perfect for four-string bass guitars. Check your existing pickups' measurements against EMG's specs before buying. Key features include dual-mode operation (Single-coil JCSX and humbucker CSX), X Series preamp for better range and clarity, Active Tone Control (VLPF) for high-frequency roll-off, ceramic and steel magnets for great tones, and a 3.5-inch (89mm) housing for four-string basses. Technical specs: Model 35-TW-X, logo color copper, magnet type ceramic/steel, resonant frequency 2.50 kHz, output voltage (string) 4.00 V, output voltage (strum) 8.50 V, output noise (60 Hz) -109 dBV, output impedance 2.00 kΩ, current (@9V) 160 µA, battery life 1500 hours, maximum supply voltage 27 V DC. What's included: 1 25k active tone pot (VLPF), 1 push/pull pot, 1 battery bus, 1 stereo output jack, 1 pair of mounting screws, 1 pickup cable, 2 connect cables, 1 output cable, 1 battery cable.

Using the EMG 35TWX is easy. First, make sure your bass guitar is compatible with the 3.5 - inch (89mm) extended housing. Install the pickup according to the included mounting screws and cables. To change tones, use the push/pull pot to switch between single - coil and humbucker modes. You can also use the Active Tone Control (VLPF) to adjust the high frequencies. If you have two TWX pickups on your instrument, use a DPDT toggle switch for output selection and avoid using EMG's BT or BQ Systems. For maintenance, keep the pickup clean. You can use a soft cloth to wipe it gently. Check the battery regularly. With a battery life of 1500 hours, replace it when the sound quality starts to degrade. Before you purchase, always compare your existing pickups' measurements with EMG's specifications to ensure a proper fit.
