Product Detail

The Gator GTR-FRETMUTESM-1BK is a small, black guitar fret mute that comes in a single pack. This string dampener is a must - have for musicians. It fits 6 - string electric or acoustic guitars, 4 - string basses, and ukuleles. Ideal for studio recordings, rehearsals, and live performances, it can suppress overtones and sympathetic resonance of open strings during different tapping techniques or general playing. Its small and compact design allows you to store it directly in your gig bag pocket or guitar case accessory compartment. With a min/max string muter pad length of 2.25/2.5” (57/64mm) and min/max overall length of 6.5/6.87” (165/174mm), it offers a great fit. It can dampen strings on the fretboard or above the nut on the guitar headstock. The stretchy material with a hook - and - loop strap enables you to adjust the level of dampening. Product dimensions are 6.5”/165mm (L) x 1”/25mm (W) x 1”/25mm (H), and it weighs 0.2 lbs./0.1 kg.

Using this Gator guitar fret mute is super easy. First, decide where you want to dampen the strings - either on the fretboard or above the nut on the headstock. Then, stretch the mute over the strings and use the hook - and - loop strap to adjust how much you want to dampen the strings. You can experiment a bit to find the perfect level for your playing. When it comes to storage, just pop it into your gig bag pocket or the accessory compartment of your guitar case. As for maintenance, keep it clean. If it gets dirty, you can gently wipe it with a dry cloth. Avoid exposing it to extreme heat or cold, as this might damage the stretchy material. Also, make sure the hook - and - loop strap doesn't get caught on anything sharp, as it could cause it to wear out faster.
